Fec-owned museums
They can be found in Rome and Naples. In the capital city, the archaeological site of ‘Roman houses’, situated under the Saints John and Paul’s Basilica on the Celio hill, is open to visitors. It is an important complex of residential buildings dating back to Roman times, perfectly preserved and rich in frescoes which required restoration work lasting several years before its opening.
In Naples, the Fec is responsible for the running of both the Museo dell’Opera di Santa Chiara, including the adjacent cloister forming part of the monastery bearing the same name, and the Sala degli Arredi Sacri (Hall of Vestments, Altar Cloth and Holy Vessels) inside the Basilica di San Domenico Maggiore.
