The application procedure for admission of third-country nationals for the purpose of subordinate seasonal work, as envisaged in 2012 immigration quota decree, opens on 21st March 2012.
Online applications can be submitted from 8 a.m. on the morning of the day after the publication of the decree by the President of the Council of Ministers dated 13th March 2012 until 31st December 2012 at 12.00 p.m.
Announcement of the publication will be posted on the websites of the ministries of Interior (www.interno.it) and of Labour and Welfare (www.lavoro.gov.it).
Employers are required to submit their applications for hiring third-country nationals residing abroad no later than 31st December 2012 at 12.00 p.m. by using the procedure for online application available at the following web address:
The maximum quota of 35,000 units, to be distributed over the regions and autonomous provinces by decision of the ministry of Labour and Welfare covers the following:
- non-EU subordinate seasonal workers from Albania, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Egypt, Republic of the Philippines, Gambia, Ghana, India, Kosovo, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Morocco, Moldova, Montenegro, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Ukraine and Tunisia.
In pursuance of article 2 of the above decree, a further 4,000 third-country nationals residing abroad who have completed education and training in their country of origin under article 23 of legislative decree no. 286 of 25th July 1998, are admitted in advance within the maximum authorised number of third-country nationals eligible to enter the country for the purpose of subordinate seasonal work in 2012.
