A new automated online application procedure will become operative in an experimental way in Foggia on 30th January and later adopted by the police headquarters in Bologna. Starting July it will be extended throughout the national territoryA new automated online application system for processing data required for completing international protection granting procedure by using the ‘Online form C3’ was presented yesterday at the Territorial Commission for International Protection in Foggia.
From 30th January to 31st March 2012, the online applications submitted by international protection seekers in Foggia will be completed and forwarded, in an experimental way, to both the Territorial Commissions and the Dublin Unit by the local police authorities.
The move is part of the project by the Department for Civil Liberties and Immigration of the Interior Ministry, in cooperation with all stakeholders involved, aimed at developing a system allowing to automate the total number of applications for international protection.
Pursued targets are the following:
- to reduce paper flow;
- to speed up procedures;
- to dispose of unambiguous and shared information;
- to harmonise processes.
In April 2012 the experimental project will also be adopted by the police headquarters in Bologna. Starting July it will be extended throughout the national territory.
