G6 Ministers of Interior to meet in Varese on May 28 and 29

The United States of America and the European Commission will also take part in the meeting coordinated by minister Maroni. Programme for the press

The meeting of the G6 Interior Ministers of Spain, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy and Poland will take place in Varese on May 28 and 29, 2010 and will be co-ordinated by the Italian Minister of the Interior, Mr. Roberto Maroni. The meeting venue will be Palazzo Estense, seat of the Municipality of Varese.

This will be the fourteenth meeting of the G6 Interior Ministers. The United States of America and the European Commission will also take part in it. Purpose of the meeting is to enhance the efforts of the major E.U. Countries in order to find quicker and shared solutions to E.U. core issues, which are mainstream matters in international debate.

The meeting will start in the afternoon of May 28 and the first session will be focused on migratory issues.

On Saturday May 29, there will be two sessions. The first one will be devoted to the fight against organised crime, especially against illicitly acquired assets. The second session will focus on counter-terrorism.

The meeting will end around noon and at 12.15 p.m. there will be a press conference.

Friday 28th May, 2010 

- From 03.30 p.m.: Teatro Santuccio, accreditation at the Press desk.

- 05.00 p.m.: Palazzo Estense - First Session of the meeting on“Migratory issues”.
Cameramen and photo reporters can film and take photos in the meeting hall before the meeting starts.

- 07.30 p.m.: end of the Session.

Saturday 29th May, 2010

- From 08.30 a.m.: Teatro Santuccio, accreditation at the Press desk.

- 09.00 a.m.: Palazzo Estense, Second Session: “Fight against organised crime with particular reference to illicitly acquired assets”.
Cameramen and photo reporters can film and take photos in the meeting hall before the meeting starts.

- 10.30 a.m.: Photo opportunity.

- 10.45 a.m.: Palazzo Estense, Third Session : “Counter-terrorism”.

- 12.15 p.m.: Palazzo Estense, Press conference.

Access to the venue of the meeting, will be strictly limited to the accredited media representatives who shall wear the badge provided visibly at all times. The said badge is personal and cannot be worn by third persons.
Media representatives may pick up their personal badge, upon presentation of a valid identity document, at the press help desk that will be located at the entrance of Teatro Santuccio (10, Via Sacco - Varese).
The media workroom with working stations for journalists will be located inside the Teatro Santuccio.
